AZUSA YOSHIMOTO
PAINTER FOR CERAMICS AND PORCELAINS
Ceramic artist specializing in hand-painted pottery. After working at renown studios in Kagoshima (Satsuma ware) and Kyoto (Kyō ware), I became an independent artist.
I incorporate traditional Japanese fine overglaze painting techniques, while blending in humorous designs featuring animals and other period specific motifs to create unique, original pieces.
Each work is hand-painted, so no two are exactly the same, with each piece having its own distinct expression. I hope my one-of-a-kind pieces can become a favorite of yours.
Artist Biography
2019: Graduated from Kyoto Prefectural Ceramic High Technical School, Design Course
2019-2023: Worked at the Chin Jukan kiln in Kagoshima
2023: Enrolled in the same school’s Forming Course, graduated the following year
2024-2025: Worked at the Kobayashi Ceramic Studio in Kyoto
2025: Moved to Tokyo and became independent
